The icy peaks of Dong Ting mountains create this tight-fisted Oolong tea translating to mean, ‘Frozen Peak’. Known for its distinctive fragrance, it was used in royal families as an imperial tea bath whose compact green leaves rolled into tiny balls, unfurl into a beautiful sight when touched with warm water.
What makes it great
A preferred slimming tea for its tea-theine (tea caffeine), vitamins and mineral concentrations, Dong Ting Oolong is lightly oxidized with a complex flavour profile that is baked multiple times over low temperatures for many hours to attain the deep and smooth floral liquor. Growing at a height of over 800-2000 meters, this tea is the result of expert skill, care, time and attention by farmers.
Taste and Aroma Notes
Intensive baking processes create a light gold coloured brew with a nutty, caramelised long lasting character and baked, comforting notes of exotic flowers and unique spices.
We recommend re-steeping this tea up to 5 times using 3 grams of tea leaves for 150ml of water.
50 grams = 83 cups of tea.
This tea will last for multiple infusions throughout the day. One of the greatest advantages of drinking good quality loose-leaf tea is that each serving can be re-steeped many times.
