One of the ‘Big 10 Famous Teas’, you can’t help but notice its unusually thick, strong notes like that of a deep Spring forest. Made using only leaves sans buds, the flat shape of this green tea comes from a wok-frying technique; vertically tossing the leaves with a grass-fiber broom in a 45° angled wok.
What makes it great
Grown in Liu'an, it is named as Gua Pian or ‘Melon Seed’, after the oval shape of its leaves; where fragrant aromas reside. These folded aromas gently release in the cup as the thin and soft emerald leaves unfurl, and work a calming magic as you sip it.
Taste and Aroma Notes
The unusually strong yet clear aromas ruffle through each sip and offer a sweet, floral edge. A smooth and clear concoction that delights the drinker with its refreshing, and diverse essence.
Don't throw away your tea after steeping it! One of the greatest advantage of drinking whole leaf tea is that each serving of leaves can be re-steeped many times.
