Better known as the Emperor of Japanese Teas, this plant with only one or two sprouts, is shaded under traditional curtains called 'Kanreisha'. Green tea grown this way speaks of sweet flavours as without sunlight, bitter tannins are less, making it one of the most expensive Japanese green teas, harvested only 2 times a year.
